I am Miss Shana. I started teaching with Montessori Academy in October 2010. I assisted in Miss Mary's preschool classroom, and I now teach my own preschool class! I graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor's of Science in Family and Child Studies, with an emphasis in Family Social Services. I have experience working with middle school children in the Sycamore Spartan REACH program, and I also have experience working with infants and toddlers in a daycare setting. My husband, Jason, and I have two wonderful children. Our daughter Keira is four and attends preschool at Montessori, and our son Huck was born in April of 2010. I continue to learn about the Montessori style of teaching and hope to help foster children's learning and independence to help them be successful in school and life.
